My name is Bobbie Heilig, and I am the praise and worship leader at New Day Fellowship. I am married to the love of my life, Philipp Heilig. God has blessed us with amazing children and grandchildren, and we are learning what it looks like to be parents to all adult children now, which has been quite an adjustment for us.
I didn't grow up in a Christian home, but the Lord has been pursuing my heart, my whole life. My childhood babysitter was a Wesleyan preacher's wife, I would attend church with my maternal grandfather when I was little at his little Baptist church, and my paternal grandparents from West Virginia were Pentecostal and attending church with them whenever I was visiting. I knew from a young age, that Jesus loved me, and although I was surrounded by different church doctrines and traditions, I learned that there are different ways to worship God, not everyone worships the same, and that is okay.
As a teenager and young adult, I rebelled, a lot. I did my own thing, but God had encompassed my life with prayer warriors that lifted me to the throne through my wandering season. I am living proof of, "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." November 29, 2009, I rededicated my life to the Lord, and am so grateful for the peace I have in my heart.
My worship comes from a place of knowing what God has saved me from and just how good He has been to me. He has been better to me than I ever could have been to myself. My motto for New Day is that we are all imperfect people worshiping a perfect God. Worship welcomes the Lord into His house to do His will, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there, you will find freedom! There is nothing more beautiful, to me, than to sing the praises of Jesus, and hear the congregation lifting their voices in unison to the Lord. I love worshiping together with my New Day family! If you are looking for a church that loves the Lord, and loves each other, I would invite you to come worship with us! I can't wait to meet you!
